Super Junior's Leeteuk, 8eight's Lee Hyun and Mighty Mouth's Sangchu are
set make their military enlistment this October and will serve as an
active duty soldier.
On September 25th, it was confirmed that the three artists will begin their basic mandatory training in Nonsan Training Camp, with Lee Hyun starting on October 8th and Leeteuk and Sangchu on October 30th. The basic training will last for five weeks followed by their active soldier duties.
Despite their previous injuries, Leeteuk and Sangchu has been approved to serve as active duty soldiers. Leeteuk previously sustained a herniated disc injury after being involved in a car accident back in 2007, but remained steadfast to serve after rehabilitation and therapy. Sangchu, on the other hand, sustained a previous shoulder injury and was offered a chance to serve as a public worker. According to reports, Sangchu declined the offer and opted to recover fully and serve as an active duty soldier instead.
To prepare for their upcoming enlistments, Lee Hyun is revealed to have recorded tracks which will be released as a goodbye single next month, while Sangchu already announced his plans of releasing an album 'Navigation' with Mighty Mouth prior to his departure. At the moment, there are no definite plans for Leeteuk's ongoing schedules, but will be announced once confirmed.
Local and international fans alike are expected to be present at the training camp on the day of their enlistment.
