Girls’ Generation’s Hyoyeon Drank Expired Milk to Avoid Tough Schedule

On February 17, Girls’ Generation made a special guest appearance on JTBC’s variety program “Shinhwa Broadcast” where the members asked their seniors various questions.

Hyoyeon asked, “What did you do on days when it was really tough completing the schedules and you really wanted to just rest?”

Lee Min Woo answered, “I purposely ate spoiled food because my schedule was really difficult. I had an upset stomach so I got to rest that day.”

After hearing his response, Hyoyeon confessed, “Me too. I drank four day expired milk before.” Then the Shinhwa members asked, “But rather than an upset stomach, did you just have a bowel movement?”
She answered, “It’s just that I ate it. Don’t ask me further questions.” The studio laughed at her last response.

Juniel Talks About “Bad Man” and Her Experience with CNBlue’s Jung Yong Hwa

From January 26 to 28, the MIDEM Festival took place in Cannes, France, with famous guests such as Juniel, Tiger JK, Yoon Mi Rae, Bizzy, and the young DJ DHKT.

On Sunday the 27th, the Korean artists introduced their music to the French audience with amazing live performances along with interviews and conferences. Our team members over at Soompi France had the chance to meet Juniel for an interview! The lovely singer told us more about her song “Bad Man“, her experience with CNBlue’s Jung Yong Hwa as well as her debut in Japan. Check it out below and don’t forget to also check our exclusive interview with  Tiger JK, Yoon Mi Rae, Bizzy!

Congratulations on your successful comeback with “Bad Man”! Could you introduce the song to Soompiers?
“The song “Bad Man” is a pop ballad that expresses the feelings of a girl that has gone through a breakup.”

Why did you choose Japan to make you debut?
“In Japan, there were various music genres and many singers who played instruments while singing. I wanted to learn some more. I also wanted to experience different kinds of music. That is why I decided to go to Japan.”

Among all the songs of your two albums, which one is your favorite and why?
“I have written and participated in all the songs except for the title song “Babo.” Actually I like all my songs but the two songs which are “Boy” and “Everlasting Sunset” are my favorites because they were written after I went through my first love. This is why I am more attached to these two songs.”

Which K-Pop artists do you like?
“In Korea I like the artist named Kim Dong Ryul. If you listen to the melody or lyrics of his song, they contain the story of his life.”

You sang a ballad with Jung Yong Hwa (CNBlue). Can you tell us more about your experience?
“Actually CNBlue’s Jung Yong Hwa and I came into our agency on the same day. Since then during the five years until now, we have got to know each other and became close. When we were training we always talked about how we should do a duet after our official debuts. We got to work together on my debut album and my heart fluttered. That feeling made me happy and was very good.”

Have your parents always encouraged you to become a singer?
“My parents never told me that I had to become a singer. But they did tell me that they would like it if I pursued a dream I wanted to do.”

Is it your first time in France? What are your first impressions of the country?
“This is my first time in France. It is my first time in Europe or another foreign country besides Japan or Thailand. Just looking at the buildings gives me wonder. My heart is fluttering and I am having a good time. Also, everyone here is so nice.”

What final message would you give to your French fans?
“Hello this is Juniel. I have come to France for the first time because of the MIDEM Festival. When I saw the French night sky for the first time I thought that the moon was very white and pretty. I hope that I will be able to come here again so, please continue to show interest in Juniel. Please continue to cheer me on as well.”

Changmin Resembles a Manga Character?

DBSK‘s Changmin introduced his cartoon doppelganger.

On the February 12 episode of “Moonlight Prince” the cast members were talking on topic of the famous manga “Slam Dunk.” During the discussion, Changmin pointed out a particular character. “I think shooter Shin Joon Sub is interesting. I emphasize with the character who overcame his poor physique through practice.”

In “Slam Dunk” Shin Joon Sub is a character who practices shooting the basket 500 times a day, despite having a difficult life. Changmin sympathized with the character who is known for his hard work rather than natural talent.

It was also pointed out that the character resembled the singer. The big eyes, sharp chin, and ears draw resembles between the two.

Netizens who saw the resemblance commented, “So it’s true that Changmin really did some out of a manga”, “It’s like they drew Changmin”, and “The appearance and the personality are really similar.”
