Sooyoung Caught up in Love Rumors with Jung Kyung Ho

 

On February 27, local media outlet Sports Seoul reported that the two stars are in a relationship and they have been dating since the beginning of the year. According to the report, they met each other after Jung Kyung Ho’s release from the army in September 2012.

Following his discharge last September, Jung Kyung Ho had said that Sooyoung had been a big strength to him in the army. They became acquaintances last year through mutual friends. A person close to both parties revealed that the couple went on dates in theaters and talked about their careers.

As the news broke, SM Entertainment stated that the dating rumors swirling around the two stars were false. The agency stated, “They met through group meetings at church and are just simply in a close senior-junior relationship”

Girls’ Generation’s Hyoyeon Drank Expired Milk to Avoid Tough Schedule

 

On February 17, Girls’ Generation made a special guest appearance on JTBC’s variety program “Shinhwa Broadcast” where the members asked their seniors various questions.

Hyoyeon asked, “What did you do on days when it was really tough completing the schedules and you really wanted to just rest?”

Lee Min Woo answered, “I purposely ate spoiled food because my schedule was really difficult. I had an upset stomach so I got to rest that day.”

After hearing his response, Hyoyeon confessed, “Me too. I drank four day expired milk before.” Then the Shinhwa members asked, “But rather than an upset stomach, did you just have a bowel movement?”
She answered, “It’s just that I ate it. Don’t ask me further questions.” The studio laughed at her last response.

According to Tarot Cards, Hyoyeon Will Have a Perfect Boyfriend Soon?

 

Girls’ Generation‘s Hyoyeon recently made a guest appearance on MBC‘s Sunday Night‘s “Magic Concert – This is Magic!” where she learned from her tarot cards that she will be meeting her future boyfriend soon.

It was Hyoyeon’s first time having her future read in tarot cards by magician Choi Hyun Woo, and could not contain her excitement.

When Choi Hyun Woo asked Hyoyeon if there was anything she was curious to know through tarot cards she asked, “Will I ever be able to find a boyfriend?” Magician Choi Hyun Woo replied, “You will soon have a boyfriend who has many talents” to the happiness of Hyoyeon.

Magician Choi Hyun Woo also performed magic tricks with a snake over 3 meters long. Although MC Jung Jun Ha was too scared to go near the snake, Hyoyeon surprised everyone by petting it without the slightest bit of hesitation or fear.

The episode featuring Hyoyeon having her tarot cards read will air on February 10.

Girls’ Generation tops Monthly Charts in Korea and Taiwan

  

Girls’ Generation has scored success in the monthly music charts in both Korea and Taiwan.

According to the group’s management agency, SM Entertainment, Girls’ Generation’s fourth full-length album ‘I Got a Boy’ became the highest selling album for the month of January based on the Hanteo Charts.

In addition, “I Got a Boy” topped the Korean Music Top 100 of Taiwan’s biggest online music site KKBOX, further proving Girls’ Generation’s huge influence and power in the country.

The album also ranked first on the US Billboard World Album Chart and received a lot of attention from major media outlets, including, MTV, Rolling Stone, The Times and FUSE TV.

YoonA Wins Over Fans With Adorable Fan Service

 

Girls’ Generation member YoonA recently showed a unique type of fan service that has become a topic of discussion among netizens.

On online community forums, a post titled “YoonA during her fan sign event, giving fan service with eye contact” has been garnering a lot of attention.

The photos attached to the post were taken on January 25 during YoonA’s fan sign event. A fan must have requested a photo, for she seems to have readily agreed with a cheerful smile and a peace sign.
Netizens who saw the photos commented, “Why does YoonA look so adorable while giving fan service?”, “YoonA is such a goddess for giving such nice fan service” and “It’s adorable to see YoonA give fan service like this.”

In related news, Girls Generation is currently promoting their title track “I Got A Boy.”

Girls’ Generation Tops Taiwan and Singapore Music Charts

After sweeping local music charts, Girls’ Generation also dominated both Taiwan and Singapore music charts with their latest album, ‘I Got A Boy’!

On January 15th, SM Entertainment revealed that Girls’ Generation’s new album ‘I Got A Boy’ is making a wave on Taiwan, topping the country’s ‘FIVE MUSIC Chart’, ‘G-MUSIC Asia Chart’ and ‘CCR Asia Music Chart’.

The group also ranked #1 in ‘K-Pop TOP 100 Chart’ of KKBOX and ‘Asia Chart’ of HIT FM, which is the most popular radio program in Taiwan.

In addition, the group further proved their global dominance with ‘I Got A Boy’ also topping HMV’s ‘Korean & Japanese Pop Chart’ in Singapore.

Sunny Reprises Her Role as ‘Brenda’ in the Musical ‘Catch Me If You Can’

Sunny has returned as “Brenda” for a second run of the musical “Catch Me If You Can”. Her first performance was met with several wreaths and a generous rice donation.

The wreath from Girls’ Generation starts with, “Soonkyu’s cuties, Girls’ Generation bbuing bbuing”, reminding everyone of Sunny’s infamous aegyo. The hangul of “Girls’ Generation” is written as “소 ㄴ 녀시대”, which is a pun that means “Granddaughters’ Generation”. The members are making a reference to the wreath they sent for the first run of the musical, in which they used the nickname “60Sunny“. The second ribbon finishes the message by using a play on the girls’ hit song, “Run Devil Run”: “OH The one even greater than them, Kyurenda returns OH”.

Another wreath was sent by usnthem, a Korean Girls’ Generation fan-club.The message says, “Our Sunny’s confidence is tall, and her self-conviction is tall, too.” Then it adds, “As for height, this tree is ta—ller [for her] instead”. Fan-clubs also donated rice in celebration of Sunny’s first performance, amounting to a grand total of 1,676 kilograms.

FT Island, Boyfriend, Girls' Generation and More in this Week's Oricon Charts

This week's charts include another load of new releases with FT Island and Boyfriend in the single rankings, each with their most recent releases, as well as Girls' Generation's newest and second full length album "Girls' Generation 2 ~Girls & Peace~."

FT Island's "Polar Star" takes the 2nd place in this week's single ranking after selling 19,400 copies on its first day. The band is closely followed by six member group Boyfriend, whose 2nd Japaneses single "Kimi to Dance Dance Dance/ My Lady ~Fuyu no Koibito~" sold 16,929 copies and got them to the 3rd place.

This week it was also time for the release of Girls' Generation's newest full length album. "Girls' Generation 2 ~Girls & Peace~" got to the 2nd spot.

On the 5th place in this week's single ranking, we find girl group Girls' Generation's latest single "Flower Power." The release sold 29,065 units since its release on November 21st. MYNAME's second Japanese single "What's Up" sold 19,366 copies in its first week, grabbing a 9th spot just before SHU-I whose newest single "Daigyakuten" sold 18,432 copies.

The next coming weeks include releases by various other artists including, U-KISS (12/12), SHINee (12/12) and Supernova (12/19) among others.

Girls’ Generation Releases ‘Girls’ Generation II ~Girls & Peace~’ Album

 

 

On November 28th, Girls’ Generation released their second Japanese album entitled “Girls’ Generation II ~Girls & Peace~”. Their first Japanese album, “Girls’ Generation”, proved to be an overwhelming success, having shipped over 1 million copies. “Girls’ Generation II ~Girls & Peace~” consists of twelve tracks, with a mixture of upbeat songs and ballads.

Girls' Generation To Release First English Language Album In 2013

 

Girls' Generation is reportedly planning on releasing their first English language album sometime in 2013.

"Girls' Generation is poised to release their first album recorded entirely in English. Tentatively due for release next year by Lady Gaga‘s label, Interscope, the album will mark the group’s first serious effort to court English-speaking music fans," UK newspaper "The Guardian" reported.

The publication predicts that Girls' Generation will become the next Korean act to make it big outside of Asia. With PSY's "Gangnam Style" opening people up to listening to Korean music, the girls are expected to be received better than their first step into the Western market with their English language version of "The Boys".

The group first announced their plans for an English language album last year during a press conference in France. No specifics were given at the time.

Girls' Generation is poised to have a very busy schedule ahead of them with 3 albums coming out within a year. On November 28th, the group will be releasing their 2nd Japanese album, while in January, the girls will make their Korean comeback with their first Korean album in 1,5 years.

Girls’ Generation Holds First Fan Meeting in Japan

Hallyu star group Girls’ Generation held their first fan meeting since the release of their Japanese debut “Playing with Girls’ Generation” on Tuesday, in the Yoyogi First National Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan.

According to Japanese media reports, Girls’ Generation sang three of their hits, including “Gee”, “Oh!” and “Flower Power”, a new song, for the 10,000 fans who were invited to the event held in commemoration of the release of single “Flower Power” (on Nov. 21) and Girls’ Generation 2 (on Nov.28).

During the meeting, five groups, including “Ladies’ Generation”, consisting of housewives with an average age of 48, Children’s Generation, with an average age of 8, and “Inaho Generation”, consisting only of men, danced along with Girls’ Generation to the hit songs, raising the temperature at the venue.

Seohyun, a member of the group, said about the children’s dance, “I want to have a baby like them after marriage.” YoonA said, “We like to learn their prettiness.”

TaeTiSeo and EXO-K Try out TVXQ’s Dragon Dance for “Catch Me”

 

With the recent comeback for TVXQ, numerous artists have been showing their support for the return of the Gods of the East. The latest people to show their support were none other than their labelmates, EXO-K and Taetiseo!

In a recently-released photo displayed on TVXQ’s official homepage, Girls’ Generation‘s Taeyeon, Tiffany, and Seohyun are awkwardly trying to do the ‘dragon dance’, one of the most difficult – and amazing – parts of TVXQ’s choreography for their newest release, “Catch Me“.

Meanwhile, EXO-K are also seen trying to do a version of the ‘dragon dance’ on their own, but it looks like they still need some more practice until they can do it right!

Hyoyeon: "I've Dated 2 1/2 Men"

Girls' Generation member Hyoyeon revealed on "Invincible Youth 2" that she has dated 2 1/2 men, peaking the interest of the show's host Lee Young Ja.

During the show, Korean TV personality Bronwyn Mullen shared that she has dated 2 Korean guys so far. The show's host then asked Hyoyeon how many guys she's dated. "I've dated 2 1/2 men," Hyoyeon responded.

When asked to explained what she meant by 2 1/2 men, the singer explained that 2 men asked her to date them, but a 3rd man never actually asked her to date him.
In addition to confessing to dating 2 1/2 guys, Hyoyeon also began opening up about one of her past boyfriends. According to her, the man would often get so drunk that he would forget the things he had said to her the night before.

"He told me once, 'Are you suffering? I'll pay your contract fee so you can do whatever you want from now on'," she shared.

Although the two are no longer dating, the relationship made Hyoyeon learn something about herself. "I trusted him because I liked him. I trust people too easily," she said.
